Qitio Alarm System - What you need to know

The Qitio Alarm System is a central unit and a movement sensor in one device. As it only needs power supply and no further cables it can be installed by anybody in a few minutes. The Qitio Alarm Device is extendible with up to 56 external sensors so it is ready for a wide range of usages.

One of the big strengths of the Qitio Alarm System is that you can control it by SMS, WAP and the Internet. This means you can operate it at any time from any location in a very comfortable way. To enable this remote operation the Qitio Alarm Device is permanently connected to the Qitio Central Server which is located in a secure data centre. This connection is done via GPRS a special mobile network service which allows devices like the Qitio Alarm Device to connect to servers. Imagine that the Qitio Alarm Devices is talking on a mobile phone to the server and the connection is never interrupted.

This displays another feature of the Qitio Alarm Device. If the connection is cut of, e.g. when a burglar sabotages the Qitio Alarm System before the Qitio Alarm Device can send an alarm, then the Qitio central server will detect a lost connection and will inform the owner.

As all operations are managed by the central Qitio Server you can access it from any location in the most comfortable way. Using the internet displays all functions and it is easy to set-up an alarm strategy. The Qitio Alarm Strategy defines which persons will be informed in case of an alarm. You can inform as many persons you like at the same time. You can also set-up the alarm strategy in such a way that some persons are informed at once and others later on, only when the first persons did not react to the alarm. For instance you could set-up the system in such a way that you, as owner, are informed as the first person and then, if you have not stopped the alarm, a security company will be notified.

There are multiple ways of arming and disarming the Qitio Alarm Device. You can send an SMS or, to save SMS cost you can use WAP or JAVA ME on your mobile phone. Also a remote control is available and you can arm and disarm over the internet. Finally, you can activate a schedule and the Qitio Alarm Device will arm and disarm itself automatically.

When you want to start using the Qitio Alarm System you will need to buy at least a Qitio Alarm Device and a Qitio Service Pack. The Qitio Service Pack comes with a SIM Card and is ready for operational use. All cost of communication are included, such as the communication of the Qitio Alarm Device to the Server via GPRS and up to 60 SMS for information and alarm SMS to the user. The standard Qitio Service Pack is valid for 12 months. It also includes a small fee to operate the Qitio central server.

If you want to have a professional security company being part of your alarm strategy then you will additionally need a Qitio Security Pack. Our partner in Poland is Skorpion Security and will increase the level of your security significantly. Normally, you would pay a monthly fee to a security company just to keep the service alive. With the Qitio Security Pack you will only pay the interventions Skorpion actually performs, no monthly fees or any other hidden cost.
